Hi, my name is Shona Brady. I have been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1997 in Auckland, Wellington and and continue to teach this liberating discipline to women in Christchurch (and sometimes further afield).
The Alexander Technique offers a way of releasing you from pain and discomfort in a very natural drug free way. Instead of treating the problem we address the cause which is quite often a habit in your way of moving, sitting, standing which has been there so long that you don't even notice it anymore. We all have these habits but not all of them cause long term problems.

Most people ask me how many lessons it takes to come right. Well, the answer is 'It is honestly different for each person'. Some may learn all they need to in one workshop and others may need to come for 10-15 individual lessons. The difference is, some people will put in a lot of time thinking about it away from the lesson and because of this the habit can change faster. Other people are too busy with work or family to be able to put in this time so the habit will be slower to change. One thing I will say for sure is that the Alexander Technique will definitely bring about change in everyone.
